So here you have it. Arguably the most naturally beautiful place in the region and one that that only an in-the-know few are lucky enough to have discovered. Tai Long Wan really is worthy of being called Hong Kong’s hidden gem, because it is just that.
Comprised of four white-sand, bay-hugging beaches, this stretch of coastline is as idyllic as it is remote. A million miles away from the urban frame of the Hong Kong you have always imagined, these flawless beaches, backdropped by craggy cliffs and the undulating rolls of uninterrupted verdure that make up the ridged back of the area’s famed ‘Dragon’, showcase the island’s unspoilt wilderness at its very best. And translating to ‘big wave bay’, if you’re a die-hard surfer, or have always just had it on your to-do list, you’ll be in for a treat here.
But if surfing isn’t your bag, swimming, or even just sunbathing, is always an option. And the real key is to get those shoes off and feel the sand between your toes on a romantic stroll – the blissful beachy options are endless.
Presenting you with life’s simple pleasure the only question that remains is: is this Hong Kong’s answer to the Philippines? We’d certainly be inclined to say so.
