Your Travel Safety

The world can be an uncertain place at times so we have to take some measures to ensure you’re safe.

Keeping you safe

If the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises travellers not to visit a particular country, then we’ll need to act on this which could mean cancelling your holiday. We’ll do our best to help you create a new holiday within your price range, but if this can’t be done or travel is imminent, we’ll offer you the option of cancelling your holiday with a full refund.

Just bear in mind that when you’re on holiday you have the same responsibility for your personal safety and possessions as you do at home. We’d advise you to take a look at FCO’s Travel Aware website before booking and regularly before you go. It has up to date advice on travel to over 200 countries, as well as handy tips on things to do before travelling abroad, travel insurance as well as applying for and renewing a passport.

Keeping your money safe

Meraki Travel is part of the DER Touristik UK, which is a member of ABTA (membership number V258X). That means we have agreed to stick to ABTA’s code of conduct when it comes to the information and assistance we provide both before and during your holiday as well as how we deal with any problems you might have.  All the holidays we sell are covered by an ABTA scheme protecting your money – so in the unlikely event we disappear, you won’t lose your money.

You can find out more by watching the video below and/or visiting the ABTA site. In addition, all our holidays inclusive of flights are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). This is a scheme that protects you from losing money or being stranded abroad if your operator goes out of business. The CAA can give refunds to people who can’t travel and arrange for people abroad to fly home. Our ATOL number is ATOL 0132.  ATOL Protection extends primarily to customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom. For more information, see our booking conditions or visit the ATOL website.
